The history of Tessitura Giaquinto is a story of family, work, and continuity. For over a century, in Gagliano del Capo, we have been transforming natural yarns into Made in Italy Jacquard fabrics and household linen, preserving artisanal knowledge that continues to live on in our daily actions.
Grandma Francesca's Courage
In the 1930s, Grandma Francesca left for Como to buy the first loom, transforming limited resources into a project destined to become a family story.
Small, determined, and tireless, she was a key figure for subsequent generations. Her approach to work — patience, rigor, and the belief in doing things well — is still part of Tessitura Giaquinto's identity today.
Her story also belongs to the Salento of women who wove and embroidered together, passing down skills, memory, and independence.

A family-run manufacturer
Today, Tessitura Giaquinto remains a family business. Cosimo safeguards the expertise gained on historical looms; Antonietta develops original Jacquard designs; Francesco carries on the technical weaving knowledge; Katiuscia, along with Rocco, handles the commercial activities.
Every stage arises from the dialogue between experience and contemporary sensibility. The result is not only a quality fabric but an object that preserves the memory of the place where it was created.
The story continues on the looms
In the workshop in Gagliano del Capo, yarn still becomes fabric, then a tablecloth, a sheet, a bedspread, and an object to be used every day.
